Redocly Pricing 2026: Flat Plans, Projects & Real Cost

Redocly pricing is now one flat price per plan: Pro at $249 a month and Scale at $729 a month, both billed annually, with Enterprise on a custom contract. Seats, readers, Git contributors, and pages are unlimited on every plan. [1]

That leaves two things that move your bill: the plan tier you need and the number of documentation sites you run. This guide prices both, works through six real team shapes, and covers what happens if you are still on one of the older plans. Every figure comes from Redocly's pricing page and documentation. Redocly Pricing at a Glance

Three plans, each at one price regardless of how many people use it. Pro and Scale are self-serve with a 30-day trial and no credit card, and Enterprise is sold through sales on an annual contract. [1]

Annual billing is two months free compared with monthly, so these are the lowest rates Redocly offers. An extra project is $39 a month on monthly billing or $390 a year on annual billing. [1]

Nothing else is metered. Redocly says the invoice carries the plan and any extra projects you added, with "no usage line, no seat line and no overage." [1]

If you would rather start without a fixed annual commitment, Documentation.AI has a free tier with reader AI, the MCP servers, and unmetered pages, and paid plans priced per workspace. [4]

How Does Redocly's Pricing Work?

You pick a plan, and the plan sets your feature set and your project allowance. People never enter the calculation: owners, members, committers, billing users, and viewers are all free in unlimited numbers. [1]

Redocly states the reasoning on the page itself: per-seat pricing taxes the behavior that makes docs better, which is more people touching them. So an engineer who edits one OpenAPI file a quarter, a reviewer, or a writer joining for a launch costs nothing to invite. [1]

What Counts as a Project

A project is one published docs site with its own domain, Git repository connection, and settings. Pro includes 3, Scale includes 10, and Enterprise has no limit. [1]

Most teams need one project per product site. Several products or APIs can share one site with its own navigation and versions per product, but that multi-product feature starts on Scale. [1]

Pages Are Unlimited, Under Fair Use

Pages are not counted or billed on any plan, so each API operation in a large OpenAPI file no longer eats into an allowance. Very large sites fall under build and hosting rate limits, and Redocly asks teams expecting more than ten thousand pages to talk to it about capacity. [1]

What Happens When You Hit a Limit

Redocly blocks and asks rather than billing. Creating a project past your allowance prompts you to add one or change plan, while existing projects keep building and serving. [1]

Rate limits on pages, readers, and AI beta usage work the same way. Hitting one slows requests and never creates a charge, and Enterprise plans can raise them. [1]

The 30-Day Trial and How Billing Starts

The trial runs on Pro for 30 days with no credit card, and you can switch it to Scale at any point. Pro and Scale pay by card, monthly or annually, while invoice payment is an Enterprise feature that Scale customers can also buy as an add-on through sales. [1]

Workflows is still supported. Redocly's older platform, Workflows, was due to be retired, but Redocly extended the migration and has not announced a new retirement date. [3] Everything in this guide describes the current platform, Reunite, and Workflows plan names and prices do not apply to it.

What Actually Drives the Bill

With seats and pages gone, three things decide what you pay. Two of them apply today, and the third arrives when Redocly's AI features leave beta. [1]

1. How many sites you publish. Each project past your plan's allowance is $390 a year on annual billing.
2. Which plan tier your identity and governance needs require. SSO, Platform RBAC, project analytics, and attribution removal all start on Scale, and SCIM, audit logs, and data residency start on Enterprise.
3. AI usage after general availability. The AI Assistant, MCP server, and Redocly Agent are included during beta, and usage pricing will follow.

What Scale Adds Over Pro

Scale costs $480 a month more than Pro on annual billing, or $5,760 a year. For that, it adds a list of capabilities aimed at organizations rolling docs out across teams: [1]

• Platform RBAC with Admin, Member, Billing, and Viewer roles.
• Project analytics, covering page views, searches, and assistant usage.
• The embeddable AI Assistant widget (beta), for your own site or app.

• SDK generation and publishing (early access) in TypeScript, Python, Go, and PHP. Pro gets local generation through the open-source CLI.
• Search facets, remote content, custom npm packages, and cookie consent.
• Removal of the "Powered by Redocly" line from your docs.
• Ten projects instead of three, and priority email support.

What Enterprise Adds Over Scale

Enterprise is quoted by sales and adds unlimited projects, project RBAC for specific pages or sections, SCIM provisioning, audit logs and log export, and IP restrictions. It also adds a custom Node registry, EU data residency or a single-tenant environment, MCP analytics, drafted fixes from Redocly Agent, dedicated support with an SLA, and security questionnaires and legal review. Five of those are not all-or-nothing. A Scale customer can buy project RBAC, SCIM, audit logs, IP restrictions, or invoice payment as an annual add-on without moving to Enterprise, though Redocly does not publish add-on prices. [1]

How the AI Beta Is Priced

Every plan includes the AI Assistant for readers, the MCP server for your docs, and Redocly Agent pull request reviews while they are in beta. Usage is limited by fair-use rate limits rather than a meter, and nothing AI-related appears on an invoice today. [1]

That changes at general availability. Each plan will then include an AI allowance, extra usage will be priced in dollars with a spend limit you control, and Redocly says it will publish the prices and the date at least 60 days ahead. [1]

Until those prices exist, Redocly has no allowance that can be divided into a cost per reader question. Budget the AI as free today, and plan for a usage line once the beta ends.

What's Free? Redoc, Redocly CLI & Open-Source Tools

Redocly has no free hosted plan. What it has instead is a set of open-source tools that do real work at no cost, alongside the 30-day trial of the paid platform. [2]

Open-source Redoc renders an OpenAPI description and nothing else. The hosted platform adds GraphQL and AsyncAPI reference, try-it requests, Markdown and React pages, a mock server, search, and a preview for every pull request. [1] [2]

Respect Monitoring Moved Into Enterprise

API monitoring is no longer a separate usage-priced purchase for new customers. It is part of Enterprise, with the monthly request limit set in the contract, and teams on earlier plans keep their existing monitoring commitment until they move. [1]

A check that only needs to run in CI does not need monitoring at all. Contract testing is already in the free Respect CLI. [2]

What Does Redocly Cost for a Real Team?

Between $2,988 a year and a custom contract, and headcount no longer moves you along that range. Six teams, priced at Redocly's published annual rates: [1]

The first two rows cost the same, which is the point of the new model. Adding ten people, a getting-started guide, and an AI assistant to the bill changes nothing.

The jump comes from rows three to four. The same people publishing the same four sites pay $5,370 a year more, and what they buy is single sign-on, role-based access, and an analytics dashboard.

Scale Is Never the Cheaper Way to Buy Projects

At ten sites, Pro plus seven extra projects costs $5,718 a year against $8,748 for Scale. Past ten sites both plans add projects at the same $390, so Pro plus extras stays $3,030 a year cheaper at any site count. [1]

Move to Scale for SSO, analytics, RBAC, or the widget, not for its project allowance. If your only constraint is the number of sites, Pro with extra projects is the lower bill.

The Same Team, Priced Against Documentation.AI

The four-site team from the scenarios above pays $281.50 a month on Redocly Pro and $159 a month billed annually on Documentation.AI Pro, which also includes analytics and content-level RBAC. On Redocly, adding analytics moves that team to Scale at $729. [1] [4]

If You Are on a Legacy Redoc, Revel, Reef, or Realm Plan

The per-seat, per-module plans are closed to new subscriptions. Existing customers can keep their plan, price, and billing page for at least a year from Redocly's announcement, and nothing changes unless they choose it. [1]

Redocly maps each earlier plan to a new one by the capabilities you use, not by the old plan's name. Your billing page shows the mapped plan and its price before you confirm anything: [1]

Moving is never a price increase. If the matching plan costs more than you pay today, you keep today's price for 12 months after you move, and if it costs less, you pay less from the day you move. [1]

You can move with one click, effective immediately with a prorated credit, or at your next renewal. Small teams on a single module should compare carefully, because a one or two-person team on the old Pro plan may find that Pro now costs more once the 12 months of price protection end.

What to Consider Before Choosing a Redocly Plan

Four questions settle your number, and the plan cards answer most of them directly.

1. How many separate sites do you publish? Up to three fits Pro, and each one past that is $390 a year.
2. Does anyone require SSO, role-based access, or analytics? Any one of them sets your floor at Scale.
3. Do security or procurement teams require SCIM, audit logs, or data residency? That means a Scale add-on or an Enterprise quote.
4. How much do you rely on the AI Assistant? It is free during beta, so model what a usage line could add once Redocly publishes GA pricing.

Two places in Redocly's own material disagree with the pricing page, and both matter for budgeting: [1] [2]

• Redocly's billing documentation still describes seats for owners, members, and committers, and page budgets that stop deployments. The pricing page says seats and pages are not billed on any plan.
• The AI assistant documentation still describes a fixed monthly question quota per organization. The pricing page says AI usage is limited by fair-use rate limits during beta, with no meter.

The pricing page is the one that sets your invoice, and the documentation has not caught up. Ask sales to confirm in writing which limits apply to your account before you size anything around them.

What Switching Away From Redocly Actually Costs

The strongest argument for staying is not the price. It is that your documentation already lives in Git, your OpenAPI description is the source of truth, and redocly lint runs in CI on every pull request. Most of that moves: Markdown and MDX are portable, Documentation.AI keeps bidirectional Git sync so pull requests still gate what publishes, and OpenAPI descriptions import directly and generate the reference pages. Two things do not move. Redocly CLI lint rules and decorators use Redocly's own configuration format, and custom React pages and ejected components do not port at all. The first matters less than it looks, because Redocly CLI is open source and host-agnostic, so a team can keep linting and bundling in CI and publish somewhere else. [2]

For a team with many contributors, the new pricing is simpler than the old one. A large group of writers, engineers, and reviewers now costs the same as one person, and Pro includes reader AI, the MCP server, a mock server, and three sites. [1]
