What makes a developer close the tab

You get about thirty seconds. Most of what loses them in that window is fixable.

Slow, heavy pages
A documentation site that takes three seconds to render a code block has already lost to the search result underneath it.
Search that returns the changelog
Keyword matching with no semantics sends somebody looking for pagination to a release note that happens to mention it once.
A quickstart that does not run
The snippet is missing an import, the version moved, and nobody has tried it end to end since the SDK changed.
Their assistant knows an old version
Cursor answers from training data rather than from your docs, and the developer has no reason to doubt it.

The whole developer experience, not just the reference

Quickstarts, SDK guides, tutorials, and concepts in MDX, on a site built to be fast, searchable, and readable by machines.

  • Over 100 components: callouts, tabs, steps, cards, code groups, expandables, and parameter fields
  • Hybrid search combining semantic understanding with keyword matching, ranked with a heading-level boost
  • Products, versions, and languages as navigation dimensions, each able to carry its own landing page
  • Ask AI answers questions inside the docs and cites the page and section it used
  • Redirects and rewrites keep old bookmarks working when you restructure
  • Custom domain or subpath, custom CSS, and custom scripts when the defaults are not quite yours

Every page is also served as clean Markdown to AI clients, so the assistant a developer is pairing with reads exactly what the developer reads.

Fast, findable, and machine-readable

Three properties that decide whether a developer finishes the quickstart or goes back to the search results.

Fast by default

Perfect 100/100 Lighthouse scores across Performance, Accessibility, and SEO, with no tuning, no build configuration, and no performance budget for somebody to defend in review.

Written wherever your team writes

The web editor for visual editing, the code editor for MDX in Git with previews on every pull request, and the Authoring MCP server so Cursor or Claude Code can update pages and deploy.

Readable by the agents your users run

The Reader MCP server exposes grounded search over your published documentation to ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, and any MCP client, including for private and gated sites.

Frequently asked questions

The questions that come up when a developer-facing site changes platform.

Can we version our documentation?

Yes. Products, versions, and languages are structural dimensions in your navigation, and each value can carry its own content page, such as a what is new page for a specific version.

Do we have to adopt a proprietary format?

No. Content is standard Markdown and MDX in a Git repository. Migrations from GitBook, Docusaurus, ReadTheDocs, and custom static sites are supported.

How do we keep old URLs working?

Redirects and rewrites are configured in documentation.json. Path matching is case-sensitive, and consolidating several old pages onto one new page is a supported pattern.

Can we document more than one product in a single site?

Yes. Products, versions, and languages combine as dimensions in one project, with breadcrumb navigation, search, and the AI features aware of each.
