AI FeaturesConnectors

Connectors

Connect GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Linear, Notion, HubSpot, Plain, Intercom, and your own reader feedback so the AI agent can read your code, issues, specs, and support conversations while it writes or updates documentation.

Connectors give the AI agent live, read-only context from the tools your team already works in. When a prompt needs it, the agent reads your code, issues, specs, or support conversations and uses them to write or update your docs, in the editor and in workflows.

How connectors work

  • Live, not copied. The agent reads a connected tool at the moment a prompt needs it. Nothing is imported or synced into your Documentation.AI workspace.
  • Read-only. The agent has no tools that create, edit, or delete anything in a connected tool.
  • Connected once, turned on per project. A connection belongs to your organization. Each documentation project turns it on or off with its own switch.
  • Used by the editor and by workflows. In the editor, the agent uses the connectors that are on for the open project. A workflow uses them too, and you can clear any connector in the workflow form.

Before you begin

  • You need the Admin or Editor role in your Documentation.AI organization to connect a tool, disconnect it, or turn it on or off.
  • You need an account in the connected tool with access to the content you want the agent to read.

Connect a tool

Open Agent Settings

In the dashboard sidebar, under AI, click Agent Settings. The Connectors section lists the tools the agent can pull context from.

If you are in the editor, you can click Connectors below the chat input instead. It opens the same list.

Click Connect on the tool's card

The tool opens in the same tab. Sign in, choose what the agent can access, and approve. You return to Documentation.AI when it is done.

Check that the connector is on

The card now shows Manage and a switch that is on. The connector is on for the documentation project you have open. To use it in another project, open that project's Agent Settings and turn on the switch.

Each connector's page covers its own setup, the tools the agent uses to read it, example prompts, and troubleshooting.

Available connectors

Who can see connected content

Anyone who can use the agent in a documentation project where a connector is on can ask about the content it can reach, even content they cannot open in the tool itself. Give each connection access only to content that suits everyone who uses the agent.

Turn off or disconnect

  • To stop one project from using a connector, turn off the switch on its card in Agent Settings. Other projects keep using it.
  • To remove a connection from your organization, click Manage on the card and disconnect. This removes it from every documentation project, including the workflows that use it.

Connectors, External Sources, and site integrations
