Two things spend credits: the AI Assistant, and the Documentation Agent, including AI workflows, which run on that same agent rather than metering separately. Browsing, editing and publishing your documentation cost nothing. One reader question to the AI Assistant costs 1 credit whatever the answer length, and one agent task runs from about 5 credits for a quick edit to 320 for a large restructure, with a single page edit averaging 35. So 10,000 credits is on the order of 10,000 reader questions, or around 200 page edits.

The AI Assistant and the Documentation Agent pause until your next 30-day cycle, or until you top up. Your documentation stays published and fully editable throughout; only the AI features wait.

No. There is no overage billing on any plan, so AI usage cannot quietly run up your bill. If you reach your allowance the AI features pause until your next 30-day cycle, and topping up early is a deliberate purchase you choose to make. You can watch the balance at any time from Settings then AI Usage in your dashboard, which breaks usage down by feature and over time.

Half of them do. Credits reset on a 30-day cycle, and 50% of whatever you did not spend carries forward, up to a ceiling of 1.5x your monthly allowance.

Starter includes 5 editor seats and Standard includes 10. Pro and Enterprise are unlimited, so once you are on Pro you can add everyone who writes or reviews docs without paying per person. Readers of your published documentation are never counted as seats on any plan.

Standard adds password-protected documentation. Pro adds private docs behind your own user login over JWT or OAuth, plus role-based permissions. Enterprise adds SSO with SAML or OIDC and SCIM provisioning.

Yes. Your content moves as files: docs are Markdown and MDX with bidirectional Git sync, and OpenAPI specs import directly to generate API reference pages. Pro includes priority migration support and Enterprise is white-glove. Videograph moved across from ReadMe and now maintains its product and API docs with AI Workflows.
